This year I've been busy!

Last Tuesday I committed genocide... Sorry about that, applebite (-5000 points). Last month I caught a purse-snatcher who stole dragonfiremage's purse (30 points). In February I gave high_speed a life-saving blood transfusion (50 points). Last Friday I pulled over and changed grimmlin's flat tire (15 points). In January I bought porn for kakitaseigi (10 points).

Overall, I've been naughty (-4895 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!

Well, I just spoke to someone who works with our computers at the office on a regular basis, and now I know why the WinXP Remote Desktop Client will not, in fact, work here. Apparently it's a licensing issue, and the 2k server simply won't accept connections from XP.

Soooo, that sends me back to the whole idea of running 2k on a partition on this machine (shudder).

Suck. I've had enough with unstable PCs.

Ok, so recently I bought my awesome new laptop. It is superb in every way. The problem is, my workplace is less-than-superb, especially in the department of computer systems. They're running off a WIN2K server, using Terminal Services for the ancient terminals that most people have here.

I am not interested in getting rid of XP and downgrading to 2K for work (this isn't meant to primarily be a work machine), but it would be nice if I could install 2K to a partition, and then boot to that when I'm at work, and use XP for everything else. So, the question is, how does one go about doing this? Is it even realistically possible (for a mediocrely tech-inclined individual)?
